Formed in 1996 by Marilyn Mosely Gordanier, a pioneer in the fields of distance learning and environmental education since the early 1980s, The Laurel Springs Educational Foundation has recently undergone a strategic realignment of its programs.

Today the Foundation seeks to make high quality education available to underserved communities globally. Using well-known web and text based curricula developed by the Laurel Springs School, and others, the Foundation makes grants of educational curricula materials for grades K-12 to qualified agencies, and provides additional support as needed.
