Marsha is a consultant to non-profit organizations, specializing
in management, program development and strategic planning. She
was the founding Director of both the Housing Leadership Council
of San Mateo County and, under the aegis of the Ventura County
Community Foundation, the Civic Alliance for Ventura County. Ms.
Rea currently works as a consultant on Planned Giving for California
State University Channel Islands. Prior to her non-profit sector
work, Marsha had a successful private practice as a manager of
investment portfolios for high network individuals and families.
Marilyn is a speaker, author, and the Executive Director of Laurel
Springs School She has more than twenty-five years' experience
in the field of alternative education. In her capacity as an alternative
educator, Ms. Mosley has helped to found three schools: the New
Morning School in Baltimore, Maryland; Laurel Springs Distance
Learning Program and Laurel Springs High School, both in southern
California. Since its founding, the Laurel Springs Distance Learning
Program has become the premier provider of customized curriculum
for students Pre-K through grade 12 and online education for students
in grades 4-12. Under her directorship, Laurel Springs High School
received the United Nations Global 500 Award and the President's
Youth Environmental Award. Ms. Mosley was nominated for a Nobel
Earth Prize and is a keynote speaker at numerous national and international
educational conferences. She currently serves as the president
of the UN Global 500 Environmental Forum and recently co-authored
the book Towards Corporate Environmental Excellence.
Dr. Hinges is a Dominican Sister who represents the International
Public Policy Institute at the United Nations, is part of the Theology
faculty and a former campus minister at Saint Peter's College in
Jersey City. Dr. Heiges received her doctorate in Religion and
Education from Columbia University Teachers College and has taught
every grade in elementary and high school, as well as college courses.
In the early 1990's she coordinated national and international
communications for the U.N. Education for All Global Process. Dr.
Heiges later became the first national coordinator of the campaign
to End Child Prostitution in Asian Tourism (ECPAT). Teaching, spiritual
retreat work, social ministry and work in U.N. conferences and
committees has provided expertise in diff1cult areas of world religions,
ecology, human rights, spirituality, women's issues, economic issues,
race and multicultural diversity.
Toni Law initiated the Kids4Earth Children's
Environmental Constitution project. She is a best-selling author,
animal behaviorist, naturalist, renowned wildlife artist, African
tour guide...and the Hostess of Pet Peeves, a Lifetime cable
show. As the co-founder of Africa USA, at one time the largest
private zoos in the world, Toni pioneered a revolutionary method
for working with exotic animals, called "Affection
Training."
Beverly
has developed educational and cultural programs for major theme
parks, developed curriculum, augmented outreach programs, and participated
in the planning of themed entertainment centers around the world.
As director of cultural attractions at Knott’s
Berry Farm, she developed Adventures in Education programs in
history, science, and the arts. Beverly is currently a teacher
at Laurel Springs School where she is Department Chair for Grades
6-8. In association with Laurel Springs School and Global 500
Laureates, she has written the Kids4Earth Environment Program.
Skye is an independent researcher and internationally published
author in the field of creativity and leadership. As an associate
member of UNESCO; she serves as the Chair for Comparative Studies
of Spiritual Traditions, Their Specific Cultures and Inter-religious
Dialogue, located at the St. Petersburg Branch of the Russian Institute
for Cultural Research. Her current project for the UNESCO is coordinating
the effort to establish an international panel of scholars and
artists that will meet regularly to develop a vision of the dynamic
of culture as a creative process and develop recommendations for
creative solutions to world problems. She holds BA in the Psychology
of the Creative Process; and a Master of Leadership degree in Social
Artistry, near completion.
Ms
Kajsa Dahlstroem (President Globetree and co-founder 1982)
started her career in the 60's as a "story-teller" and
teacher in basic education for theatre and dramatic art. In 1970
she established a theatre group which later became the GlobeTheatre
(1978). This led Kajsa to found the Globetree an NGO, focused on
enhancing children's participation and involvement in all aspects
related to the Rights of the Child and Agenda 21/Sustainable development.
Children from all walks of life have the opportunity to communicate
and interact with adults of different professions; scientists,
teachers, astronauts and politicians on issues important for the
children’s future.
Ms Dahlstroem has been acknowledged
by UNEP (United Nations Environment Program), Nairobi,
Kenya. She was awarded with the Global 500 Roll of Honour
Award in 2000. UNEP has authorized the Globetree to run
a Children’s Meeting
Place on the grounds of the UN in Nairobi.
Khadijah is the Founder, Executive Chairperson
and Board member of Yayasan Anak Warisan Alam (YAWA). She
is a Governing Council Member of the United Nations Association
of Malaysia (UNAM). She was instrumental in helping YAWA
to receive UNEP Global 500 in 2001 in the Youth Category,
for its Environmental Achievements, and created YAWA’s
Partnership with UNEP for Tunza ICC. She Received Langkawi
Award in 2003 in recognition of her contribution to the environment,
by the Malaysian Government for her involvement with young
people learning to care for the environment
Through her work
with YAWA, Khadijah has organized;
- Environment Education activities for children and youth
- Conservation projects on Rivers, Turtles, and Air Quality
and recently on forest species – Lanjut tree.
- Mural paintings during YAWA Children’s conferences – Sustain
Today for Tomorrow,
- Art Therapy – with children from Tsunami affected areas,
Penang, Phuket and Aceh
Khadijah served as
an Executive Member for the UNEP 2006 Tunza International Children’s
Conference on the Environment held in Putrajaya, 26-30 August
2006, and as Chairperson on the Malaysian Organizing Committee
(MOC
In 1997 Ryan's desire to live a healthy and fulfilling lifestyle
prompted his interest in the game and business of tennis
and, leaving a successful career in the financial services
industry, he has not looked back since. Ryan is the founder
of VegasTennis.com and Marty Hennessy's Junior Tennis
Foundation, which has raised over $500,000.00 for children
in need in the tennis community.
Ryan's company, Vegas Tennis Management, also manages and
promotes tennis facilities in Las Vegas Nevada, including:
Turnberry Place and the Las Vegas Hilton. He is a tournament
Director for 13 events, including two national events, Young
Guns Championships and The Mike Agassi "NO QUIT" Championships.
As Executive Director of the high performance Las Vegas Hilton
Tennis Academy and Executive Director of VegasTennis.com's
Marty Hennessy Jr. Tennis Foundation Ryan also created the
Elite Jr. Tennis League in Las Vegas and numerous other innovations
to bring the sport of tennis alive in Nevada.
Ryan's interest in education is deeply rooted in promoting
understanding and learning. As a proponent of home schooling,
Wolfington has been a long time supporter of Laurel
Springs and all its efforts to better educate children
to be the leaders of the future.
